On the Tohoku Earthquake on March 11,2011 and the accident of Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant caused by it shook our lives in Japan to its very foundation.
The news of the accident ran about the world, people in the world have distrust in the Japanese government and the electric power companies which hide radioactive contamination and contaminated danger and do not turn the rudder of abandoning nuclear power generation.
The opportunity of the anti-nuclear/denuclearization is growing in every country in the world since the accident of Fukushima, the demonstrations and activities by citizens ordinary are performed in the whole country and also in Japan .
The Global Conference for a Nuclear Power Free World in Yokohama, Japan is held on January 14-15, 2012.
The citizens who desire a nulear power free world send to the world the messages which we must learn from Fukushima and Chernobyl, human beings and the core cannot live together and it is possible to realize society which does not depend on atomic power combining the experiences.
With holding of the conference, Metropolitan Coalition Against Nukes determined performing a demonstration named THE GLOBAL MARCH FOR A NUCLEAR POWER FREE WORLD IN YOKOHAMA at Yokohama Minato Mirai area on January 14.
Metropolitan Coalition Against Nukes is a loose network by the groups which have performed the anti-nuclear power plant demonstrations in the metropolitan area after 3.11 and has been working joining in the anti-nuclear/denuclearization movements in Japan and the world.
Too many people felt sad by the great earthquake and the accident of the nuclear power plant in 2011.
In 2012, without forgetting the sadness, let’s raise voice more aloud and make it a year which realizes a nuclear power free world for the future and the next generation.
In this demonstration. we would like to have a start of such a year.
